Snarky Puppy’s Cory Henry Rocks Teragram

Grammy award winning organ and keyboard carnivore* from Snarky Puppy, Cory Henry, brings his Funk Apostles band to Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom on Saturday May 19th.   Celebrating their stateside return (they are in Europe until mid May), Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles will be throwing down jams from their debut album “Chapter 1: The Art of Love,” which features blends of blues, soul, jazz, R&B, afrobeat and other genre benders from the keys king and his friends.

Henry commands strong vocals on the record, and continues to crush the ivory and ebony as he has for Bruce Springsteen, The Roots, and more. As you can hear on “Why Don’t Cha” below, “the music feels real good,” and you’re strongly advised to scoop tickets to the surefire party, presented by SUPERGOODMUSIC, Spin Cycle Presents and Teragram Ballroom for less than $30 (its $30 day of show).  Also check out Henry’s pretty spaced and jazzed out take on “Billie Jean” with Jacob Collier and Jules Buckley.

* full disclosure – have no idea if Cory Henry is vegan, vegetarian or a meat eater.   I just meant that Cory Henry eats the keys up and devours them like a carnivore.
