Pug Birthday Parties + San Fermin’s New Record

San Fermin‘s got a creative way of translating their chamber orchestrated indie pop sounds to video.  After enjoying “Sonsick,” I’m looking forward to more animal or other oddity fueled shenanigans in future videos from their just released self-titled record (out on Downtown as of Tuesday).

Pitchfork dubbed “Sonsick” a “deliciously infective summer jam,” NPR heralded the self-titled debut as “one of the year’s most surprising, ambitious, evocative and moving records” and the 8 piece chamber-pop styled act has drawn early comparisons to Dirty Projectors and Surfjan Stevens from respected critics publicists.   If their Downtown Records debut (which you can stream here from NPR) is any indication – neither Pitchfork nor the publicists are wrong.  Los Angelenos can see what the Brooklyn based band’s hype is all about on October 15th at The Echo.    Get tickets here.
