Oddtober: Kosha Dillz Residency @ The Satellite

Most people think of October as the month of Halloween, but Rami Even-Esh, better known as Kosha Dillz, would probably tell you it’s the month of Sukkot.  The harvest holiday is celebrated next week, October 16-23rd, including at The Satellite on the 17th, in what will be Kosha’s 2nd installment of a FREE residency series that may be best described as an independent hip-hop variety show.

He will be building a Sukkah next week, but not tonight, where the line-up du jour is Cloudtalk (9 pm), Addison Scott (10 pm), Mars and the Massacre (midnight) and of course, Kosha Dillz at 11.  Full details are here.

For the uninitiated, Kosha Dillz is a talented lyricist, having carved his teeth freestyling with the likes of C-Rayz Walz and frequently resorting to off-the-cuff rhymes at shows (he often invites fans to take things out of their pockets and bring them to the stage, which he then raps about).   A Kosha Dillz show includes crowd participation, occasional self-deprecating quasi-comedy, guest appearances from Verbs, and a composition of performers that sometimes defies logic, but nonetheless makes sense – including tonights.   His albums have charted on the Billboard charts as recently as 2016, and his music has been featured in commercials for brands like Sears and Budweiser.   Catch him at least once this month on a Monday at The Satellite.
