New Semester Starts Off Right! – It’s A School Night with Conway, Conrad + More

L.A.’s always popular FREE monday night indie music spectacular, It’s A School Night, comes into 2015 strong like a pristine chariot horse (it’s not the year of the Sheep until February, when the Chinese calendar resets). Bearing the audible treats of Conway, Tess Henley, Conrad, Miles Tackett and more, Bardot is going to be dripping with filth in a good way on January 5, 2015.

Conway brings her “Big Talk” to Bardot and will likely make the crowd “Shut Up” after she commands their attention.  Her 80′s pop sounding sensibility could have walked right out of a John Hughes film – which befits her being dubbed an electropop princess.  But don’t be fooled by the title as Conway, while angelically beautiful, looks like a pretty fierce princess you don’t want to cross.

Miles Tackett from funk ensemble The Breakestra, and a familiar DJ at Funky Sole at The Echo, opens up the night’s performers. He often brings a healthy collection of other music talent along to his performance parties, and expect his first LA live gig of 2015 to be no different. With the potential for it to meander from funk to blues and anywhere in between – getting to Bardot early is advised, especially if you want to catch Conrad as he makes his US debut. Bringing his talents to Hollywood for the first time ever, Conrad is celebrating a lot of steam coming off the sexy collaboration with Kygo, “Firestone.”

Tess Henley, the victor of Guitar Center Singer-Songwriter 3, is the third artist to get behind the mic at 2015′s 1st School Nite show.  Her uplifting, potentially narcissistic composition “Positively Me,” has garnered some attention and respect as it showcases the artist’s penchant for confidently injecting variable vocal melodies and tempo shifts in her writing.
