Introducing Teragram Ballroom: A New Home For Jam & Funk In LA

Teragram Ballroom, tucked away on 7th Street, just west of the 110 and a little outside the center of DTLA’s renaissance, is emerging as the new home for funk and jam music in Los Angeles.  Already having played host to a raging Phish after party hosted by Jesus Coomes of Lettuce in July as well as a celebrated homecoming for OrgoneScott Simoneaux, the venue’s lead talent buyer, is clearly curating a line-up that is eclectic, healthy and thankfully encouraging fans of improvisational jam music and NOLA funk to make more than one visit.

Already, Dragon Smoke, Galactic drummer Stanton Moore‘s side project is slotted for a December 1st performance, Brooklyn’s The Pimps of Joytime with buzzing Con Brio on November 7th, New Mastersounds headline a special Live For Live Music presents event on October 2nd and Revivalists and MarchFourth perform on back to back nights September 17th and 18th respectively.   In addition to bringing in nationally touring funk purveyors – Teragram’s focusing on the local players and urban funk generals too, hosting Nick Waterhouse on August 29th and Dam Funk‘s Record Release show on September 5th.

Where there is a penchant for funk, there is usually some supergoodmusic.   We are happy to be offering a pair of tickets to Nick Waterhouse’s show on August 29th.  Tweet or Instagram @SUPERGOODMUSIC and @TeragramLA and mention the Nick Waterhouse show to enter our contest.   Stay tuned to our socials for some more giveaways in the future!
