Go Go Penguin Swims Through Teragram Ballroom (9/16)

UK’s latest live jazz electronica export, Gogo Penguin, are bringing their talents state side on a late summer tour that has the trio crossing through Los Angeles and stopping at The Teragram Ballroom.

Known for their bass heavy break-beats laden with anthemic melodies, Chriss Illingworth (piano), Nick Blacka (bass) and Rob Turner (drummer) deliver a refreshing sound that calls on influences from Massive Attack to Brian Eno and reminds those in the know of a headier Bad Plus.    If you’re not familiar or you need a co-sign – the fact that they’re inked to Blue Note Records should be a testament to their quality musicianship.   Tickets are only $20 to catch the lads from Manchester.   If you’re into musicianship or progressive adaptations of electronic music or just want an avant garde Saturday night in September, don’t miss out on that Gogo Penguin!

If you’re not encouraged (or you just like to win stuff) – try your hand at entering our contest to win free tickets.   All you have to do is hit your social media (Instagram, Twitter and/or Facebook) and make sure to shout out or tag @supergoodmusic @teragramLA @gogopenguin and @spincycle.   Mention why you should be the lucky winner and maybe we will pick you.   Contest submissions are also accepted via e-mail at contest@supergoodmusic.com.   Contest closes September 12th.   Winners will be notified on September 13th.
