Infamous producer, original member of N.W.A., and celebrated face behind Beats headphones, Dr. Dre is back in the fold with his third full-length album – his first drop after a near 15 year hiatus.   The album, “Compton,” released on Apple Music’s service exclusively for at least week, can be heard now and any streaming royalties (as well as other royalties) will be donated to fund a new performing arts and entertainment facility in the city of Compton.   Dre announced the donation on Zane Lowe’s “Beats 1″ radio show.

The royalties are most likely going to be significant from the 16-track opus that acts as a companion soundtrack to the forthcoming N.W.A. biopic “Straight Outta Compton,” which is due in theaters on August 14th.   In addition to recruiting heavyweights from his illustrious career, including Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, The Game, Ice Cube and Xzibit, Dre also raised the cultural cache of a few young guns by inviting them to guest on the project including Justus, Candice Pillay, King Mez, Jon Connor and Los Angeles Anderson Paak!
