“Doublin’ Down” – The Jack Moves

Newark throwback duo The Jack Moves latest release, “Doublin’ Down,” delivers a double dosage of soul with its nostalgic sounds and bluesy textured vocals.  Released on Wax Poetic Records and complimented by a storyboarded character video directed by Pete Stempen, the track initially premiered on MassAppeal.com.

Fueled by singer and multi-instrumentalist Zee Desmondes, Jack Moves are fast becoming a new face of neo-soul.  Zee met group-mate and drummer Teddy Powell in New York’s legendary Tompkins Square Park where the two bonded over a mutual affinity for hip-hop.  Powell has lent beat services to acts like G-Unit and U-God, but his compositions have found a different sort of home when propelled by Zee’s falsetto vocals.  For now – enjoy a taste of their contemporary version of that old soul sound.
