SUPERGOODMUSIC is a music blog and newsletter that currently operates exclusively out of Los Angeles, with a focus on the live music market and buzzworthy talent developing within it. SUPERGOODMUSIC provides street level (and sometimes opinionated) access to the live music scene - through articles on emerging artists, occasional pre & post show interviews, concert videos and free ticket give aways. SUPERGOODMUSIC seeks to promote awareness of all music in and around Los Angeles and currently provides nightly information from over 35 nightly venues through the SUPERGOODMUSIC CONCERT BLAST. Sign up for the Concert Blast here (Insert the link please).
In addition to Los Angeles, SUPERGOODMUSIC also covers the festival circuit. Through cutting edge, interactive and, on occasion, backstage exposuree of events - SUPERGOODMUSIC delivers the festival experience to those who couldn't attend and those that want to relive it again. In 2010, SUPERGOODMUSIC provided coverage of Jam Cruise, SXSW, Coachella, Wakarusa, Bonnaroo, Electric Daisy Carnival, HARD, Outside Lands Festival, Sunset Strip Music Festival, Sonic Bloom Festival, Pacific Festival and Filter Magazine's Culture Collide Festival in addition to hosting three showcases in Austin during SXSW including the famous Rooftop Riot with The Viper Room that featured Andrew WK, Star Death & White Dwarfs, Foster The People and others.
SUPERGOODMUSIC plans to expand in 2011 and begin providing information about the live music scene in a variety of other cities important to America's cultural identity as well as through new avenues online. Look for SUPERGOODMUSIC in Denver/Boulder, CO, New Orleans and other markets soon. You can currently hear about SUPERGOODMUSIC's take on the hip-hop scene on the weekly Boom N Crates show on Yowie.com featuring Brandon "Boom D" Dorsky and Jacob "Jake Crates" Terry of allhiphop.com.
Brandon Dorsky is the founder of SUPERGOODMUSIC; he just also happens to be an attorney, filmmaker and talent manager. Brandon's roots in music are firm – he was a mixtape and party DJ at Shaker Heights High School (alumni include Kid Cudi, Machine Gun Kelly, founders of DFA) in Cleveland, OH, a former crate digger and used-record store clerk, a talent buyer at The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, MI, a former electronic hip-hop artist/producer and always a live music scenester. Armed with an unquenchable thirst for live performance and a desire to steer the ship that is music into the right direction, Brandon launched SUPERGOODMUSIC in spring of 2009.
Brandon has worked closely with talent, in a managerial, agent and/or legal capacity for approximately a decade, and worked for various entertainment and media companies, including Mosaic Media Group, Dick Clark Productions, International Creative Management, Blind Pig Music, Film 101 Productions, The Service Company, and several entertainment attorneys in Los Angeles. After practicing in the Intellectual Property department of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Brandon began representing his own clients in a managerial or consultant capacity through SUPERGOODMUSIC Management - launching the careers of several young artists, including Futurecop! and Foster The People.
